ABOUT US
In Malay, the name means serene and beauty, and aptly enough, Kota Permai Golf & Country Club has captivated the golfing fraternity with its charm since its opening in early 1998. Set within the 1820-acre township of Kota Kemuning, the Hicom Gamuda developed property continues to impress all who walk its fairways. Undoubtedly, Kota Permai is the jewel in the township's crown and was designed to be very much a part of the local community, a truly family club.
Since the first tee shot was struck in early 1998, Kota Permai Golf and Country Club has been aiming at a single target - to keep striving for excellence and the signs are around us at Kota Permai Golf and Country Club. Such is Kota Permai's succcess that in just four years, the club was voted Malaysia's Number One Golf Course by leading magazine, Golf Malaysia in its 2001/2002 readers' poll. In addition, the club was also voted the Most Memorable Golf Course and bestowed the Most Beautiful Hole award for our par four second hole. History repeats itself when Kota Permai returned to the pinnacle amongst Malaysian golf courses for being voted again as the Country's Best Golf Course along with the Most Memorable Golf Course and Most Scenic Hole award (Hole No.2) at the recent Golf Malaysia's readers' poll 2005/2006.

Apart from the accolades from Golf Malaysia polls, Kota Permai was also adjudged the winner of the Best Entrepreneur Award in the Gamuda 25th Anniversary Celebration in 2001. In July 2002, Kota Permai achieved yet another historic milestone when we won a prestigious international business award in recognition of our commitment to quality, leadership, technology and innovation. The club was the proud recipient of the American Business Initiative Directions' (BID) Quality Summit International Award in the Gold Category presented in New York. What made the BID award extra special was the fact that Kota Permai was the only Malaysian business entity amongst the 64 countries present at the New York convention.

On the golf course, the centrepiece of the award-winning facility, upgrading work has been going on almost constantly. The quality of the Ross Watson-designed layout has been improved by reconstructing all the greens in 2004, enhancing the fairways and rebuilding the bunkers and tee-off areas.
With the plaudits has come recognition within the golf industry. The club was chosen as venue for the prestigious Volvo Masters of Malaysia even before the first Club's monthly medal was organised! That tournament in 1998 was a roaring success with the main event sponsor Volvo so impressed by the facilities that they made Kota Permai the 'home' of the Volvo Masters of Malaysia for the next three years. When the tournament was upgraded to the Volvo Masters of Asia, the season-ending event on the Asian Tour, the organisers paid Kota Permai another compliment by staging the first edition in 2002 at the club.

After a year's absence, when the tournament was played in Thailand, the Volvo Masters of Asia made a welcome return to Kota Permai Golf and Country Club in December 2004. The Winner Jyoti Randhawa described Kota Permai's greens as the best he has ever played, which is quite a compliment considering that the Indian golfer has played in some of the best courses in the world.

The club was also selected as the host venue of the inaugural Asian Nations Cup in 1999, the region's only professional team competition which doubles as a qualifying event for the World Cup. The club had also been proud to be the host for the year 2005 World Cup Qualifier and the recent Fortis International Challenge which was formerly known as the World Cup Qualifier.
The 'Country Club' element has also been expanded and improved upon. Be it playing badminton, tennis or squash, going for a swim in the pool, hitting balls at the driving range or doing exercise at the gym, the choice is there. The facilities at Kota Permai will cater to everyone's lifestyle needs. A wide range of programmes and social activities centred on these sports are available to members as Kota Permai strives to provide the full 'Country Club' experience. The driving range at Kota Permai has been renovated extensively to provide better facilities for golfers seeking to improve their game.
Greater emphasis is being placed on customer service to instill that all-important feel-good factor amongst the members.
The recreational facilities was also being extensively expanded in 2005. Amongst others are an additional Olympic size swimming pool and an eight courts badminton hall that will undoubtedly be the talk of the town. Our members and guests now can utilize these premier facilities that will make clubbing activities even more enjoyable for them and their family.
