The opening hole is a gentle introduction to the Hicom Nine. The long hitters will relish having a go as the fairway is generously wide. They can reach the well-bunkered green in two while those who lay up will need to stay clear of several fairway bunkers. Deceptive hollows on the right of the green add to the difficulty. |

The par four second hole won the Most Beautiful Hole in Malaysia award from Golf Malaysia magazine in 2001. With a water hazard stretching along the left of the fairway and snaking to the front of the green, two solid shots are needed to hit the green. Fairway bunkers are placed strategically and the approach landing area on the fairway is blind from the tee box. |

A row of palm trees and no man's land flank the fairway of this slight dog-leg right challenge. The fairway slopes as well from left to right and creates difficult standing positions. Three greenside bunkers guard the entrance to the undulating green. |

The only hole on the course without any greenside bunker. The tee shot must negotiate a lone fairway sand trap on the left while missing the drive right will result in a demanding and blind second shot to the green. The putting surface drops off at the back and on the right into grass hollows. |

Crosswinds add to the challenge on this long three. A large bunker fronts the green while another trap awaits on the rights. While the green is probably the largest on the course, subtle slopes make this a potential bogey hole. |

A risk-reward challenge. This scenic par five hole can be reached in two by long hitters. But for an average golfer, it will take three shots to hit the green. A waterway runs along the right side of the fairway and through the front of the green and this makes precision a must. Players who lay up must negotiate a lone tree in the middle of the fairway. |

With an index one rating, this 403m par four ranks as the toughest hole at Kota Permai. Water lurks along the right while bunkers come into play to catch the errant tee shot. The approach must carry bunkers onto a deceptive green. |

This is a difficult driving hole with a narrow fairway guarded by trees on the right and bunkers on the left. The approach is also challenging as the entrance to the green is narrow while putting is tricky with the green sloping from back to front. A deep pot bunker guard the green on the right. |
